This kit uses the plasmid, pCURE2, which interferes with the replication and population maintenance functions of F-like plasmids, in Escherichia coli and other bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae. By interfering with both F-plasmid replication and post-segregational killing systems, the kit offers a way of eliminating these plasmids without stressing the host bacterium.
